WHAT TO EXPECT
Spend the morning collecting plants from the fairy tale surrounds of Knockrose Gardens while learning about the fascinating process of natural dyeing, followed by an eco printing session in a quaint garden studio.
During the process you will use a mixture of foraged plants and a collection of dye flowers from Alison's dye garden to eco print an organic cotton tote.
Eco printing is an environmentally friendly dyeing technique that uses leaves or flowers to create prints on fabric. The process involves bundling the plants in fabric soaked in natural minerals and then steaming it to transfer the pigments from the plants onto the material. The result is a beautiful, unique and organic pattern.
While waiting for the eco prints to process in the pot, we will have biscuits and tea/coffee to be enjoyed either out in the garden, depending on weather, or inside the warm and cosy studio. You will also be treated to a batch of delicious home-made scones to enjoy with cream and jam!
